More Than Dance

Dancers Making a Difference in Our Community

Service Society

Service Society is more than a program—it's part of the heartbeat of our studio.

We believe dance shapes not only strong performers, but compassionate leaders. Our Service Society gives students the opportunity to live that out—by joining our ongoing studio initiatives or by stepping up and leading their own.

Through their efforts, our dancers learn the joy of giving back, the power of teamwork, and the impact one person can make. It's one of the most meaningful ways we grow together as a studio family, and we are proud to see our students serving, leading, and inspiring change in the world around them.

Here's How It Works

Point System

Dancers earn points by participating in community service. Extra points are awarded for planning and leading their own efforts.

Recognition

Each year, our most dedicated volunteers are honored on stage at a Miller Street performance and recognized in our recital program book.

How to Get Involved

Service Society is open to all MSDA dancers. Students can join any of our ongoing studio initiatives at any time, or propose their own effort to serve a cause they care about.

Student Efforts

These efforts are led by our own dancers—students who saw a need and decided to do something about it. Click any card to learn more and get involved.

Studio Initiatives

Our studio partners with these organizations year-round. Each initiative supports a cause we care about—dancers and families battling cancer, children at risk, families in need, and more.

Dancers Against Cancer

Miller Street Dance Academy is proud to be one of the first DAC Hope Studios, uniting our community to support dancers and families battling cancer. Through events like our Baubles and Bowties Gala—where we most recently raised $100,000—we continue to leap higher each year in our fundraising efforts.

Kings & Queens International

Kings and Queens works to break the cycle of child abandonment in Peru by supporting at-risk children, equipping families with discipleship, counseling, education, and job training, and empowering mothers. They also provide housing, education, and mentorship for former street boys, raising up future leaders who will build strong families and communities. At our Baxter location, we sell handmade goods created by women in their Reinas program, and our dancers proudly volunteer each year at their gala to further support their mission.

Drea's Dream

Miller Street is a proud partner of The Andréa Rizzo Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to fulfilling Andréa's dream of providing dance therapy to children with cancer and special needs through the nationwide Dréa's Dream program. Since 2014, MSDA has supported the Foundation through performances, fundraising events, and the sale of t-shirts, Ballet Bears, and the book An Unfinished Dance by founder Susan Rizzo Vincent.

ACFI — African Christian Fellowship International

Since 2008, Miller Street has proudly supported the African Christian Fellowship International, an organization providing food and essential care to an orphanage in Liberia. Through year-round pink band sales, our annual Penny Wars competition, and the generosity of our dance families, we've raised over $100,000 to date. Every dollar makes a difference—proving that even a little change can create a world of hope.

Ready to Make a Difference
